When a customer opens a savings bank account in a bank, a banker and a customer relationship is established.This relationship arises from a contract between a banker and a customer and is called the primary relationship. This relationship, which is primarily that of debtor and creditor, gives rise to certain mutual rights and obligations. The obligations of a banker towards a customer is

    1. honouring of customer's cheques.
    2. Maintaining secrecy of accounts.
    3. Informing about the availability of
    nomination faclity.
    These obligations are not absolute, but are subject to certain qualifications.
